It is easily recognized by its lime green leaves with a striking black margin. This special plant was discovered as a variegated sport on a seedling with 'Briant's Rubidor' and 'Naomi Campbell' as parents. While variegated plants can sometimes revert, this one reverts to all black, ensuring that it will not overtake the plant. In late spring, a light crop of red-pink flowers will appear, but it's the foliage, paired with its neat habit, that really sets this beauty apart. Regular pruning is not necessary, but if you choose to prune, it should be done right after flowering. Fertilize with PROVEN WINNERS Continuous Release Plant Food in spring. At maturity, it will reach 3 to 5 feet tall and wide. This shrub can be grown in zones 5 to 8 and prefers full sun (6 or more hours daily). When shipped, 1 Gal. shrubs will range from 6 to 24 inches tall.
